Erik PurinsDoing a warmer <a href="https://pixelfed.de/discover/tags/monoprint?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#monoprint</a> of the first bus <a href="https://pixelfed.de/discover/tags/gelliprint?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#gelliprint</a> - the line work came up cleaner this time.<br> <br> I worked a dry brush over the line art to make it softer and more painterly in the windows, knocked out a silhouette in the back to represent me, and filled the interior of windows with a warm orange gradient, starting in the back. That’s where my friends and I used to sit.<br> <br> I put together various cool grays over the bus panels, and then focused on brown grays adjacent to the bus.<br> And a white and blue sky above.<br> <br> It’s strange trying to imagine it backwards.<br> <br> At the end I blocked out opposites, making a mustard green to back the sky and clouds, taking the bare tube cad orange to fill in any bus gaps, and blue for the tire wells and the asphalt.<br> <br> The original painting was slightly in from the margins, so the end colors should pop a frame around the margins, like a thick outline.<br> <br> Everything glued to the paper with a warm crimson 50 percent gray, since whites tend to show poorly colored if there is cracking / early peel.<br> <br> Sprayed the Stonehenge white paper with water earlier but got it from the back again before piling books on top. <br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.de/discover/tags/printmaking?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#printmaking</a><br> <a href="https://pixelfed.de/discover/tags/painting?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#painting</a>

Thinning with water wasn't as good.<br>▪ pickup sheet was raw Xuan rice paper (very absorbent)<br>▪ remove the pickup sheet after a few seconds, to get all the details. (I've decided pure white &amp; black are superflouous, tho.)</p><p>It feels comfortable &amp; flexible to me. I like that the colours are rich, but do not scream. Mutually exclusive. Not at all the same thing, and the archival properties of each are worlds apart.</p><p>But an AI-of-little-brain of course finds traces of both on the web and 'compromises' by indiscrimnately presenting both as true. </p><p>😵‍💫</p><p>It's become quite a chore to use the web for fact finding. 😡</p><p>Caveat emptor.
