Allie (She/Her/Elle)<p>The first Bike Summer Ride for Intersectional Genital Autonomy w/Genital Autonomy Collective this year went great! Met some lovely folks who want to help out with the cause and it was a comfortable ride! I'd like to have some apparel for the future ones to really make them a visual resistance effort! Oregon, a case fighting to expand the genital cutting ban to all children, including circumcision of those assigned male at birth and intersex kids.</p><p>This case has deep implications for trans, intersex, and gender-diverse folks. Oregon and Intact Global's challenge to expand protection from child genital cutting to all children including preventing circumcision of boys and intersex surgeries. </p><p>People are talking in support of genital autonomy this is not a fringe issue, less than 1 in 10 children are genitally cut in Oregon, and Oregonians are happy to fight for the rights of all children! </p><p>Exerpt from my speech:<br>"I’ve been speaking up against child genital cutting for almost a decade with limited success until I moved here. Portland, Oregon really became my home because we also talk to neighbors here, and we know them. We know that they’re exceptionally diverse, and I believe we’re proud to fight for human rights because we know that. We at the Genital Autonomy Collective spoke about intersectionality at the Intact Global 2025 press conference and hopefully some of the news will also mention that. The Hadacheck v. Oregon case will expand opportunities for trans, intersex, and gender diverse people in ways that more people need to be aware of. Circumcision impacts gender affirming surgery options, and impacts our freedom as well, and we're fighting with the broader genital autonomy movement for our shared rights.</p><p>An excerpt from my speech: <br>"Genital cutting is often talked about in the categories of male, female, and intersex, but those categories are not distinct in reality. People inherently defy those arbitrary boundaries. Because of this, many of the children assigned male at birth and subjected to penile circumcision, or other childhood genital cutting, are transgender, intersex, and otherwise gender-diverse<br>... Circumcision, by removing genital tissue and creating scars, physically limits options for adults seeking genital surgery. This stands in the way of our freedom to make the choice for ourselves as adults just like it does for boys and men. Please message me if you're interested in supporting intersectional genital autonomy for all children in Oregon. While we welcome help of all kinds, we specifically need help with: Graphic design, web design, contacts with press, fundraising, social media management, writing, non profit experience, academic research opportunities, tabling events, etc. </p><p>Intact Global is also looking for Intersex plaintiffs who have experienced Intersex related genital cutting in Oregon at any date to add to the Equal Protection Challenge against forced, non-religious genital mutilation. Cohen.
