I can do this with my phone (which is how I'm charging it now: no power banks in this flight). It is meant to provide a specific AMD mobile processor as a desktop PC that makes the most of it while still being easier to transport than a full-size PC.</p><p>And that processor wouldn't be anything special without soldered RAM so there wouldn't be any point in creating the Framework Desktop in the first place.</p>

More details on <a href="https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/SoftwareFirmwareIssueTracker/issues/52" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">this issue</a>. <strong>You might want to wait for the dust to settle before upgrading.</strong></p><p>Despite <a href="https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/04/frameworks-software-and-firmware-have-been-a-mess-but-its-working-on-them/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">promises to improve last year</a>, their communication and transparency around BIOS releases is sadly not inspiring confidence.</p>

Brett Kosinski<p>1/ First time using an M3 MacBook Air (work HW... that's for another post).</p><p>Comparing my <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/Framework" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Framework</span></a> 13 running Linux (Debian testing w/ Gnome):</p><p>Mac battery life/temp are way better. Not a big deal for me but it's a significant difference.</p><p>IMO the screens are similar (graphic designers will probably disagree). FW 3:2 ratio is very nice.</p><p>I don't get the obsession with the Mac touchpad. Both seem... fine.</p><p>Mac keyboard is objectively inferior. It's not even close.</p><p>Weight is near identical.</p>
