You cast one vote for one office. Of course it's done by hand. It's trivial to count the votes afterwards. Even the biggest polling stations can count their votes in an hour or two.</p><p>Other than the line to get to where you get your ballot, it generally only takes a couple of minutes to vote. Yes, it'll be longer if you're not registered to vote, as they have to verify you, but otherwise it's quick.</p><p>It has been this way as long as I've been voting, which is more than 3 decades.</p><p>This post stinks of disinformation, trying to dissuade people from voting.
