Justen<p>Exdeath is a BITCH. Especially with one character berzerked. And he seems to conveniently ignore the Berzerker too. </p><p>If the first phase spams White Hole, I'm screwed. Then when I finally got the second phase down to the last of the four, I get spammed with Meteor and Comet and didn't touch the Berzerker. Apparently it does that when only one section remains. And I'm an idiot because I could have used death on the last part. </p><p>Anyways, using Bard to boost strength in the first phase and spreading out damage got me to the last section of the second phase after 7 or 8 tries. Then completely ignoring healing, I focused on only damage. My dragoon had enough power and damage avoidance (jump) to finish the fight as the last character left. </p><p>Also, I freaking love Gilgamesh in this game. I wish they made him this goofy in the rest of the games in the series. </p><p>Bonus saves from last 2 years.</p><p><a href="https://www.fourjobfiesta.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">fourjobfiesta.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/games" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>games</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasyv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasyv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5fjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5fjf</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffvfjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffvfjf</span></a></p>
Justen<p>Welp, I opened the chest with Shinryu and got wiped immediately. Whoops. Why does FFV put the two superbosses where you have to intentionally avoid them when they will TPKO an unsuspecting party? There's no way of knowing beforehand from the game itself. I can only imagine how frustrating that would be on the original which (I assume) doesn't have auto-quicksaves. </p><p>Side question, how do people feel about the purity of the rereleases adding quicksaves that can be reloaded? I beat FFIII's final dungeon (the 3D remake) without quicksave backups and it felt like a true accomplishment. </p><p><a href="https://www.fourjobfiesta.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">fourjobfiesta.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/games" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>games</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasyv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasyv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5fjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5fjf</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffvfjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffvfjf</span></a></p>

Justen<p>Rounding out my Blue Magic, I got Mighty Guard from Stingray. I KOd my Berserker so they wouldn't kill it on accident, since they're rare. I didn't realize they're pretty stout. </p><p>Then I went to get 1,000 Needles. I thought I was looking for a Cactuar. Turns out it's a Cactus. And also they don't use it without Control. </p><p>So I ended up going back to the Pyramid of Moore to get it from a Lamia Queen. </p><p>Going through the rift, I was going to try to get Roulette from Level Checker, but my characters were susceptible to lvl 5 Death. So I skipped that, and now I can switch the Dragoon's Learning sub-ability for Blue Magic. </p><p>PLOT TWIST: I got Roulette from Azulmagia. Almost stalemated due to Old and White Wind. </p><p>Iron Giants are tough when you have Berzerker constantly making him counterattack. I had to lvl up to counter lvl 5 Death from Azulmagia. Also, Alte Roite's Encircle is annoying AF. </p><p><a href="https://www.fourjobfiesta.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">fourjobfiesta.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/games" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>games</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasyv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasyv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5fjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5fjf</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffvfjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffvfjf</span></a></p>

Justen<p>I breezed through the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tablets. The one with all the undead my Bard could solo every random encounter with Requiem, Herme's Sandals, and Auto. I didn't even bother curing everyone on the way out after running through the lava. </p><p>I got lucky with my timing on Triton, Nereid, and Phobos. </p><p>Didn't get a single random fight in the physical half of the forked towers. </p><p>The hardest battle was a random Tonberry encounter. </p><p>Even Leviathan was easy with Apollo's Harp. </p><p>Onto the rift. </p><p><a href="https://www.fourjobfiesta.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">fourjobfiesta.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/games" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>games</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasyv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasyv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5fjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5fjf</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffvfjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffvfjf</span></a></p>

Justen<p>Again, it's been a minute since I last posted. I got to the combined world pretty quickly and eventually got to the Pyramid of Moore. Struggled a bit, forgot that Lenna leaves the party for that whole section. But the Blue Mage and Bard have a lot of tools to deal with in there. Using Auto with the Bard was a must to take out groups of undead just a moment before they could attack so I'm not constantly healing. </p><p>I got a bit worried with Melusine, but I had barely enough Phoenix Downs and just enough element defenses to win on the first try. Also got lucky on a couple of her attacks that could have TPK'd.</p><p>The Magic the Gathering Final Fantasy Cards are pretty cool. A lot of iconic cards from VIII I wouldn't have expected like Lunatic Pandora, T Rexaur, Quistis, Pupu, and the lighthouse island card. Some X cards too like Ride the Shoopuf and Seymour Flux (specifically that version of Seymour).</p><p><a href="https://www.fourjobfiesta.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">fourjobfiesta.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/games" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>games</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasy5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasy5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/finalfantasyv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>finalfantasyv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffv</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ff5fjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ff5fjf</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ffvfjf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ffvfjf</span></a></p>

It's been a minute since I updated last. It's not as easy to play 30 minutes at a time when I'm checking new areas for monsters with Blue Magic.

@JTO_is_Typing has given some good tips. I have the lists for both Blue Mage and Bard. Bard is extremely useful for some powerful standard enemies with Stop, Confuse, and Regen. And for bosses they effectively become a second Blue Mage since Stop and Confuse usually don't work on them.

The Crystals were very annoying. I had to use a reflect ring on my Bard (with Blue Magic ability) to have a full-health member to use White Wind. Two reflect rings were healing them as faster than I could hurt them.

By the way, anyone getting into these Magic the Gathering Final Fantasy Cards? One of the Swamp land cards is the Ship Graveyard from FFV.

The third job has been unlocked. And from the Fire Crystal, we get... Bard! (After going through the Library and Crescent.)

This is gearing up to be my nightmare scenario. Berserker can only attack (and always attacks). Blue Mage forces me to constantly check if an ability is in the area, then coax it out of them (and hoping my Berserker doesnt kill them). Now with the Bard I have to search for hidden abilities.

Both Blue Mage and Bard both feel like oddball jobs that require creativity.

Also, I had to use breakable staffs to stomp 3 different enemies that were otherwise stomping me. (Liquid Flame, Ifrit, and Byblos)
