@FreeCAD thanks to the wonderful #freecad, I've been getting ready for my first market. This week I finally machined the collapsible rocking chair I designed in freecad and also machines the prototype of a wobble stool and it's been tested (I sat on it and it does wobble!). The wobble stool is for people who like to fidget so they can wobble the stool about whilst they do whatever they want to focus on doing.
Designed in design workbench and machined using g-code post processed in freecad #cam

Just ICYMI the deadline for the second wave of FPA grant proposals for projects relating to #FreeCAD development is next week, June 1st.

TPU spark plug wire boot for a Ford Thunderbird EDIS module, with PETG retaining clips (imitation of the original wires, which are hard to source.) designed in #freecad. I don't think these are going to do well under the hood so long term I'll remake these with a silicone mold. But it's fun right now.
This weekend in the UK it's @oshwassociation Open Hardware Summit, Jo aka @concretedog will be there and is keen to meet #FreeCAD users (and has stickers!) similarly @ajinkyapdahale is attending @lgm Libre Graphics Meeting over in Nuremburg. Be sure to say hello and chat about FreeCAD! #ohs2025 #LGM25NBG
Comes around fast! It's #FreeCADFriday once again! What are you working on in #FreeCAD today? Happy weekend to everyone in the community. #opensource #CAD
Took a minute to play with the tools in the Fused Filament Design add on @rahix created for @FreeCAD
Pretty impressive. I am going to have to use the hole tool more often to be able to really make use of this... I usually just sketch and pocket my holes, but these time savers are worth breaking habits.
Very impressive stuff.
Finally had the time to take some of the topics from my blog post about design for #3Dprinting and make them into a proper #FreeCAD addon!
You can download "FusedFilamentDesign" from the FreeCAD addon manager.
Also check it out here: https://github.com/rahix/FusedFilamentDesign
(This addon also integrates the macros I mentioned here a few weeks ago)
One of the locking levers for the convertible top vanished between last week and today. The good news is that even though this is a 50 year old car I can get a new one for $13. The bad news is it takes a week to ship. I thought about milling one from brass but #freecad is a pretty quick way to model something good enough. I told prusaslicer to use 5 layers for wall thickness in hopes it would be strong enough to last until the new one arrives.
Gosh it's #freecadfriday once again! What are you lovely people up to with #FreeCAD?
Something for the weekend? I'm super pleased to have just blogged with the 1st issue of #SOURCE. SOURCE is an idea for where to place articles I'd like to write but that are to difficult for my brilliant paid clients to home. SOURCE is opensource, free (pay as you feel) and I'd LOVE it if you shared my first experimental issue on Computational Fluid Dynamics with @FreeCAD that's on this blog. Ta.

If #FreeCAD had a #SuperTuxKart racer, what would it be or look like?
@FreeCAD
A wheel turning device / roller for my #velomobiles, so I can lubricate or clean the chain more easy. I still have to add motor, gears and some other parts to the model.

Very useful article on #3dprinting about how to design and orient your #3dprinted parts:
