Ms. Que Banh<p>I remember me & others <a href="https://beige.party/tags/FOBS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FOBS</span></a> - Fresh off the boat refugees, were treated with disdain by <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Asian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Asian</span></a> folks born here & it confused me a lot, as a little kid. I didn't understand why people who looked like me & my family, seemed to hate & not want to be anywhere around us refugee kids. It took me years to learn that they were so <a href="https://beige.party/tags/whitewashed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>whitewashed</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/indoctrinated" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>indoctrinated</span></a>, they became just as cruel to us as the white racist kids were. I felt sorry for them. I thought - how awful their lives must be, hating their own cultures & ethnicness. I got angry at their actions. I always felt more sorry for those <a href="https://beige.party/tags/POC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>POC</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/brainwashed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>brainwashed</span></a> kids, than anger.</p><p><a href="https://beige.party/tags/AsianMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AsianMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/ChineseCanadian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ChineseCanadian</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/RefugeeKidExperiences" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RefugeeKidExperiences</span></a></p>
