Tim Richards<p>Landed at last. Flight from Dubai-Melbourne was delayed an hour when someone onboard had a health incident while we were taxiing. Thank god the flight wasn't cancelled, which was a possibility due to the delay. </p><p>Can't say I'm very impressed with Emirates, I suspect they've been cost-cutting and have let things slide. Unimpressive selection of recent movies, food not that great (or hot) - and the seats! </p><p>The seats in Economy are complete unacceptable for a 14-hour flight; you'd feel uncomfortable in those seats on a 30-minute bus ride. Rock-solid, minimal padding, what the airlines euphemistically call a "slimline" seat but would be better described as "lightweight". You feel uncomfortable on these within minutes, and the pain builds over the 14-hour flight.</p><p>Not for the first time I'd like to see some legislation (perhaps an international agreement) about minimum comfort standards aboard aircraft.
