James Cridland<p>What's been quite fun over the last few weeks is finding an electricity supplier with a free three hours of electricity during the day (11am-2pm). We work from home, and we find that the 11am deadline is enough to get us up from our desks and loading the dishwasher/washing machine etc, and seeing how much electricity we can feasibly use during that time. (The solar panels are normally at full generation then, and so are supplying half the power we use at that time anyway. Cunning.).</p><p>What's also been fun is a) fixing the solar inverter to report locally every five minutes, rather than fifteen; and b) getting the Home Assistant box to use this better data to calculate how much our electricity is costing at this moment.</p><p>The "bumps" in consumption at 9am-ish today was heating; then our solar took over.
