Can someone use #AI or #OCR to get the actual numbers into #alttext ?

As a #blind #voter who encountered issues at the polls this #election cycle, this information would have helped me greatly. I went to #vote on the first day of #EarlyVoting

Our county uses #verity voting equipment. This includes an #ATI - #AudioTactileInterface. A #voter can listen to the ballot in any of the four supported languages and use a dial and button to make their selections.

Because of past experience with intrusive #ElectionWorkers, the first thing I do is turn off the screen. It didn't help this time.

My particular #ballot style had 72 items. I don't remember the number of the item I was on, (First Court of Appeals, Place 9) when one election worker told another that I would need help. I said aloud that I did not need help, and that, if I did, I could ask for help at that time. Someone said that the machine might "time out" (which is not true - this is a misunderstanding - when a voter is qualified, they get a code to enter into the machine. That code expires after 30 minutes. I'd already entered it). At that point, I very carefully completed my ballot, then took the time to ensure my selections for all ballot items were as I intended. It took me about an hour overall.

I tried to file an #ADA #complaint. I asked the election workers for the complaint form. They did not provide it, and did not believe they had such a thing (they are supposed to, I've served as an #ElectionJudge - there is a stack of them in the same folder as the required ADA information that is to be posted).

They gave me a phone number to call, and the person taking my report understood me to say the equipment had timed out, so the fix was to replace it.

The ADA complaint form is also on the website, where I did complete it. I wish I'd had a voter protection number to call.

As election offices struggle to staff the polls this year out of #safety concerns, #Illinois voters will be able to weigh in on a measure that would increase penalties for anyone who interferes w/ #ElectionWorkers’ duties.

The “stolen election” #BigLie from #Trump & his supporters has meant that in swing states across the country, #election officials are quitting or retiring after facing an onslaught of #threats & #harassment.

Judge Orders #Giuliani to Forfeit Millions in Assets to #ElectionWorkers He #Defamed

The onetime personal attorney to #Trump has seven days to turn over his Manhattan condo, a vintage Mercedes-Benz & other possessions.

A federal judge on Tues ordered Rudolph W. Giuliani to turn over most of his possessions & available cash to a receivership controlled by the 2 #Georgia election workers he defamed after the last presidential #election.

The New York Times · Judge Orders Giuliani to Forfeit Millions in Assets to Election Workers He DefamedBy Eileen Sullivan

Last week I attended my local board of elections seminar to become an election inspector. Many counties need more inspectors and (at least in NY) you get paid for your time. I was one of the youngest people there. Many parts of the country need more staff due to security threats.

Please get involved if you can still do so in your area.

DC #ElectionWorkers have been fielding angry calls & emails for over a month from people who oppose allowing #noncitizen residents to #vote in local #elections, leaving the head of the DC Board of Elections concerned about #safety at the polls in Tues’s primary.

“I am definitely nervous,” said Monica Evans, BOE exec dir. “The environment around elections has felt more unsafe.”

#RudyGiuliani has agreed to NEVER again publicly accuse #Georgia #ElectionWorkers #RubyFreeman & #ShayeMoss of tampering w/ballots in the 2020 election, a lie he has incessantly repeated & that led to his bankruptcy

The permanent #injunction ends Giuliani’s yrs of attacks on Freeman & Moss.
It also gives the women #power to hold him accountable if he ever again suggests they took votes from #Trump /gave votes to #Biden

Barton was 1 of many #ElectionWorkers across the country who faced #threats during & after the #2020election, when #Trump & many of his supporters claimed the #election was fraudulent. Few instances of fraud were found.

…an atty representing Nickels, …told the Detroit News that the case shows “how mental health affects so many people.” (no blame 4 the inciter in chief?)

Nickels pleaded guilty to 1 count of making a threatening interstate communication… he faces up to 5 yrs in #prison.

Mind you Giuliani is broke - but regardless - this is a very small measure of #justice and #truth in an another wise despicable period of illegal unethical conduct. #Giuliani ordered to pay $148 million for #defaming #Georgia #electionworkers. Why it matters: The decision marks the latest multimillion-dollar penalty in a case related to 2020 #election #lies, and will add to the former #Trump attorney's mounting financial troubles. #NeverForget #Trump is a #criminal and so are all his #allies

A federal jury in Washington, #DC has resumed deliberations Fri morning to decide how much Rudy Giuliani must pay in damages to 2 #Georgia #ElectionWorkers. RubyFreeman & #ShayeMoss sued him for as much as $48M, asserting that he falsely & repeatedly accused them of helping to steal the 2020 presidential election from #Trump, exposing them to a torrent of vicious #threats & #harassment.
