Can't believe this isn't the first thing that popped (poped?) into my mind:
"A Chicago Pope implies the existence of an MLA Pope and APA Pope."

Now for at least one of those pictures I promised:
This is the first animal we found in the yard. He is a mean cocky squirrel who is twice as large as any of the other squirrels in the yard
Obviously he got too close to a power plant...
But he's practically here every day being the little shit he is to many of the other animals
The trouble with dangling modifiers. New blog post:

Nice! Four new documents to review and _none_ of it is my own writing.
I enjoy having the occasional reprieve from having to stare at and edit my own words.
The difference between being served a meal in a restaurant and lightly adding some salt & pepper versus cooking from scratch some days.
I’m editing “The Cat and the Warlock”, my pulp novel. It’s the first time I’ve looked at it since December. It’s definitely a fun ride. This will be the next book I publish.

Technical writing/editing advice request:
If seeking copyright permission to use a technical graphic image but the copyright holder, a registered charity:
- doesn't acknowledge/reply to enquiry emails to multiple vaguely relevant departments
- has disconnected phone numbers
- relevant employees i.e. knowledge manager, doesn't respond to social media connection request
? What next steps should I take?
? Suggested work around?
Ugh, rabbit hole. I was checking a reference book for some details re Auckland University's Old Arts Building (back in the 1920s when it was the Very New Arts Building), when I stumbled across almost a throwaway remark about the involvement of the registrar of the day with the university rugby club. I spent the rest of the afternoon tracking down details of said involvement, so that I could correct and rewrite ... one paragraph.
No wonder it takes me so long to finish a book :)
I corsi sull'IA che sto editando mi annoiano talmente tanto che voglio lanciare il PC dalla finestra.
Ridatemi i contenuti psicoeducativi, grazie.
Just edited a short story where the main character was clearly an author insert but I was experiencing a whole new culture and intersectional story so felt as if everything was fresh, so now I think readers don't know the difference between an author insert and a Mary Sue. Besides, this author insert died at the end after having absolutely nothing go right for him, at all, in the story so, well, I wanted to give the writer a hug because if he thinks this is his future he needs one! #Editing #Editor
Fell in love with this app for developing photos professional workflows possible on a smartphone.
