Sen<p>(2) What do <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> fiends actually look like?</p><p>If running a fiend-heavy game one might be breaking out vrocks, hezrous, nalfeshnees, etc.</p><p>To me these don't look right as native fiends. I propose reskinning.</p><p>The only canon native fiends are the Rakshasa. They appear as normal tiger-people apart from the backwards hands.</p><p>I like the idea that khyber makes fiends to resemble mortals but it can never get it right. Tries to make a rabbit but it gets a jackalope instead.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a></p>
Sen<p>Okay, time for some <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> ideas.</p><p>(1) According to K.Baker, Khyber aka Eberron's underdark is full of demiplanes. I can work with that but it strongly implies to me Khyber is its own plane or at least its own layer.</p><p>What if Siberys, Eberron and Khyber were three adjacent planes or layers of the material plane? I like this idea bc it implies there's cool stuff going on up in Siberys we just don't hear about it.</p><p>I'd like to think the moons are inhabited.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a></p>

Sen<p>I wanted <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> gnomes who weren't defined by their nation's secret police. (Canon Eberron has pro-police sentiments fr.)</p><p>So I decided they must've created a penal colony at some point. I sited it in Lhazaar, decided it would've declared independence during the war,</p><p>and now there's an anarcho-capitalist island nation off my Eberron's Khorvaire's coast because obviously anarcho-capitalist gnomes will be an improvement</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a></p>

Sen<p>In my <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> the language Giant is as much a language of arcane magic as Draconic if not more</p><p>After all how much high arcana must have been brought back from Xen'drik, advancing the state of arcane magic? The Cul'sir Empire was magitech before the Five Nations ever were and there's definitely been tech transfer there. Sen<p>I can't accept Droaam as written. I find the basic nation idea implausible and can't let it go.</p><p>This being <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> I've taken artistic liberty to remake it as a Mirkwood-like sibling to Eldeen, so it's okay</p><p>Similar issue w/Sarlona. I can't accept how the plane Dal Quor is supposed to work. So nothing about Riedra works for me. Gotta overhaul that too.</p><p>I'll reject an entire continent of canon if I can't suspend disbelief about one premise. Shit has got to make sense.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a></p>
Sen<p>Reading over all these thematic 3e <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> prestige classes makes me think</p><p>What I should do is take existing supplement-book subclasses, or good 3rd-party ones, and reskin to make them Eberron flavored</p><p>like reskin the Gloom Stalker Ranger as the Gloaming-bound Ranger fr'ex</p><p>so players have setting-thematic character options right in front of them. One might opt for gloaming-bound for the heck of it but later learns more abt the Gloaming and gets drawn into the lore.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsanddragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsanddragons</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a></p>
DnDFanatics<p>Dungeons &amp; Dragons is heading back to the lands of Khorvaire with a new book entitled "Eberron: Forge of the Artificer." Sen<p>In <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> there's literally two canon floating buildings, plus an entire floating neighborhood made out of solidified cloud, and the creator tries to argue it's not a high-magic setting 🙄</p><p>(Arcanix and the Tower of the Twelve; and Skyway in Sharn.)</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a></p>
Sen<p>And without meaning to I replaced what <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> is missing absent a hell: alien and dangerous supernatural beings who will fuck up the PCs for entertainment value, all the way up to Archfey who are just as powerful as any Archdevil. Worse yet unlike hell, the plane of the Faerie is dead easy to stumble into, when the Faerie aren't just snatching mortals outright.</p><p>Oh and the Wild Hunt. My Eberron *definitely* has a Wild Hunt.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/ttrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ttrpg</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a></p>
Sen<p>Anyway in my <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> the distinction between seelie fey, and unseelie fey, is the former typically leave their victims *alive*.</p><p>I overhauled my Eberron's fey to strongly take after Changeling: the Lost. I've never played CtL, but I've always liked it bc it shows the Faerie as I see them: profound and dangerous beings for whom mortals are at best playthings, and at worst dinner.</p><p>In my Eberron, the Faerie are not your fucking friends.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/ttrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ttrpg</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a></p>
Sen<p>So <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> doesn't really have space for devils and demons and angels to be a big deal because it's weird about alignment to where intrinsically evil (or good) creatures don't make sense. Accordingly it has no heaven or hell planes</p><p>But I really want it to have powerful supernatural creatures that are malign presences in the game and have it out for mortals in general</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/ttrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ttrpg</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a></p>
Procrastination Goblin<p>That was a fun first <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> session. We ended up with:</p><p>A wide-eyed but silver-tongued half-orc bard from Droaam searching for missing family.</p><p>A crusty old dwarf fighter from the Lhazaar Principalities exhausted from a long life of violence.</p><p>A human ranger from the Eldeen Reaches who ended up in Sharn looking for coin.</p>
Sen<p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> idea: when a hurricane hits <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Sharn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sharn</span></a> (or a cyclone or a typhoon)</p><p>Sharn's in the tropics, on Khorvaire's south coast and maybe 100 mi. from the west coast. That area can totally get hit by hurricanes.</p><p>(idk how many high-level Lyrandar spellcasters it'd take to blunt the force of a hurricane but I think it's more than there are.)</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a></p>
Sen<p>Making random weather tables for all 12 named climates— Oceanic, Warm Mediterranean, Hot Arid, etc.— to use in tandem with a climate map of Khorvaire (see below) so I can roll random weather every day in my game. As one does.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a></p>
Sen<p>I may never run an <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> game in Sharn, but having read the 3E Sharn supplement I am definitely taking all those individual neighborhoods, filing the serial numbers off, and using them as a stockpile of pre-made neighborhoods for the cities I *do* run. It's quite a collection</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dungeonsAndDragons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dungeonsAndDragons</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/ttrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ttrpg</span></a></p>
Sen<p>I'm going to be running <a href="https://mas.to/tags/dnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dnd</span></a> 5e one-shots every other Saturday starting on Jan 4th. I've caught up on v5.5 and read the 5e <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Eberron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eberron</span></a> book, and I've got an idea for my one-shot.</p><p>Next up, I just need to do chargen 10 times to make 10 pre-mades 🙃</p>
