Aside: A shelter WAS there previously, but earlier in the #pandemic a vehicle pancaked atop the shelter, destroying it and ALL related signage wrt this spot being an actual #ETS #transit stop.

I called #311 for weeks and was literally treated as though I were lying (despite media having a pic and everything!!!) and only when I called a city coucillor did the city bother to install a new sign.

Still no #shelter to this very day.

"The preliminary 2023 data shows that “ETS #emissions are now around 47% below 2005 levels and well on track to achieve the 2030 target of -62%,” the Commission said.

The #ETS regulated about 45 percent of the bloc's total greenhouse gas emissions in 2023, covering energy-intensive industries, power plants and some flights within #Europe. The scheme, which charges a price for licenses to pollute, expanded in 2024 to also cover #shipping emissions. "

"Carbon dioxide emissions regulated under the European Union's emissions trading system (#ETS) fell by a record 15.5% in 2023 as renewable power output soared, the European Commission said on Wednesday.

Around 45% of the European Union's output of greenhouse gases is regulated by the #EU ETS.

The power sector saw a 24% drop in #emissions compared with 2022 levels."

#EU #farmers should pay for their #CarbonEmissions, says Denmark

"This could be achieved by charging them for their #emissions under the bloc’s cap-and-trade emissions trading system (#ETS), which already covers power generation and heavy industrial sectors.

#Denmark’s government is discussing a #CarbonTax on its own beef and dairy production. It would be only the second country in the world after New Zealand to introduce such a levy."

The Conservative government has quietly made changes to the #UK #carbon trading scheme, adding more allowances for carbon pollution.
The UK ETS trades at € 55 per tonne, compared to € 89 for the European #ETS.

1. So much for the "Free Market"
2. This is a cynical move to get votes by lowering electricity prices
