But it is <a href="https://beige.party/tags/unfair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#unfair</a> that <a href="https://beige.party/tags/BritishColumbians" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#BritishColumbians</a> must pay the full carbon tax when the <a href="https://beige.party/tags/OilAndGas" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#OilAndGas</a> industry, whose production is responsible for more than one-quarter of <a href="https://beige.party/tags/BritishColumbia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#BritishColumbia</a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/CarbonEmissions" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CarbonEmissions</a>, gets a carbon <a href="https://beige.party/tags/TaxBreak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TaxBreak</a>.The new system will also have a negative impact on B.C.’s carbon <a href="https://beige.party/tags/TaxRevenues" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TaxRevenues</a>. In 2024-25, carbon tax revenues will be about $500 million lower than they would have been under the old system. This <a href="https://beige.party/tags/RevenueLoss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RevenueLoss</a> means fewer dollars to pay for <a href="https://beige.party/tags/ClimateAction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ClimateAction</a>.These changes point to a <a href="https://beige.party/tags/BCgovernment" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#BCgovernment</a> that is far too cosy with the oil and gas <a href="https://beige.party/tags/industry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#industry</a>.
