@il_tecnico @webpressant @fasnix @bsi @young_ullrich das bestreite ich nicht, im Gegenteil!
#Barrierefreiheit ist etwas wo die meisten #Distros massiv nachlegen müssen!
As we head into May Paolo has written up the current state of #rust in the #qemu code base: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2025-05/msg00455.html
It looks like things are coming together although we are not quite at the point we can throw the switch to make it mandatory. We haven't had much feedback from the #distros yet on how easy a rust-ified QEMU will be to package.
Tails 6.14.1 Released with Improved Tor Browser Integration
—@linuxiac
「 One of the standout changes in Tails 6.14.1 is its improved confinement technology for the Tor Browser. Formerly, users were confined to saving and reading files from only a narrow selection of folders. With this update, individuals can now freely access any folder in their Home directory or Persistent Storage from the Tor Browser 」

@topher well, nothing prevents #Distros from offering that.
And yes, I do think a lot of #SystemsIbtegrators and #MSP|s could actually provide added value by offering that.
@dalias @eniko but to answer the original post:

that disk image to a USB drive.https://infosec.space/@kkarhan/113501525965760653Worst-case you manually install i.e. Ubuntu LTS Server or Debian on it once and enable SSH server so you can then shove it back into the closet.
You BitTorrent your favorite Distro to get it downloaded faster.
I BitTorrent my favorite distros after my mobile data has run out to give my mobile carrier a middle finger for not offering a real & uncapped data flatrate at a reasonable price!
New #blog post: Which Linux Distro *shouldn't* I pick, and why?
https://rldane.space/which-linux-distro-shouldnt-i-pick-and-why.html
@nixCraft The #freedom to choose - not just between convenient ready-to-consume #Distros like @ubuntu and others - but also the freedom to make it yourself the exact way YOU want it...
@wdormann so basically all modern #distros are unaffected because they all have a built-in #firewall up and running...
@sodiboo instead if using proprietary SaaS like Tailscale I can recommend using #pfSense and other Networking-focussed #distros to manage your #WireGiard Setup where you can easily deploy & maange configs for clients and the clients themselves...
@robobox well, if a modern #Linux like @ubuntu / #UbuntuLTS is too straining consider something like @bunsenlabs / #BunsenLabsLinux or #PorteusKiosk or #TinyCore instead?
Personally I'm working on a minimalist #TUI-focussed #toybox + #musl / Linux distro called "OS/1337" with the current goal to make a MVP that fits on a 1440kB 3,5" FDD!
And whilst @OS1337 isn't nearly as close to release-able, I dp recommend the aforementioned #Distros instead as they should allow you to still use even a low-end #T60 configuration productively.
Kick off your #weekend with a fresh install of #openSUSE! Select one of our #Linux flavor #distros & enjoy #opensource the #chameleon way. Have a lot of fun! https://get.opensuse.org/
I got my son a laptop for school. (Refurb T490s!) He's not super technical but, after watching his mom struggle with windows, he wants Linux. Here's the question. Do I install Ubuntu since most Linux software works with it and it's easy to admin or do I install something else? (I run Debian and BSD on my personal machines.) Thanks! #linux #distros #question
