Don't sit on the wooden picnic tables and park benches where ground squirrels are also running around and lying on. They aren't called "wood ticks" for nothing.</p><p>I played with a beginner friend who is much more naturally athletic than I am, but he is a nice guy. About 10 feet ahead of me on every throw, and he hasn't thrown at all in 6 years! ...</p>

Lots of interesting automation, a lot more intricate, robotic, and computer controlled than I would have guessed. The enthusiasm, geeking out over automation and disc golf, is pretty infectious.</p><p>I am still recovering from my infected tick bite and haven't played in a week. Enjoy yourself out there.</p>

erik<p>Played Lakewood Hills in WBL with the fam this evening. Fun course, a good mix of woods and more wide open holes. Hole 18 (pictured below) is fun - the tee box is up on top of a huge hill and you throw down to the basket below. Because I am made of irony.</p><p>Oh, you mean how? In the blackberry bushes on the 4th hole at Rooster Rock West. Another guy lost his white disc there while I was looking (for TWO HOURS), but he is not unemployed right now, so he gave up after 20 minutes. Of course I helped him look.</p><p>I would be still looking, but it is 90°, I am still not 100% recovered from Covid, and it is not worth having a heart attack over.</p>

I didn't know that this under curve was designed to fit the joint distance of a finger. A firmer grip and more controlled release is making up for the worse aerodynamics.</p><p>I love learning something new!</p><p>I give myself little polite golf claps and thumbs up when I shape a throw well, regardless of distance, because I am not good enough to take this sport seriously, nor do I want to. 😜</p>

Carrying 3 disc, using the 6 SPD Warship as a distance disc again. It is not any worse than my 7-10 SPD discs, and the rim is shaped very differently, so it is only leaving my hand when I chose to release, not when the velocity rips it from my hand.
