@fsinn I think people don't realize that most long-term residents of skilled nursing facilities are on #Medicaid. (#Medicare used to cover SNF services.) Grandparents or elderly parents, or severely #disabled. Nursing homes are prohibitively expensive otherwise. Candidates for a nursing home have to use up all of their savings and other wealth beforehand, in order to qualify for Medicaid. Except for the wealthy, most of us will need Medicaid.
The culture war against the disabled & their benefits conitinues with accusations of fraud among users of Motability Operations who organise leases of modified vehicles for disabled users.
On a user base of around 700,000 vehicles, last year the firm removed 5,300 users from their scheme due to miss-use.
These figures are being used to claim the system is rife with miss-use/fraud & should be clamped down on, with added tracking & surveillance of users.
It could get nasty!

I am #disabled so I am poor cuz I guess disabled people deserve to be according to the US government since I only get about 1100 a month, and they even want to take that away!
I have no interests that will ever likely make me rich, and refuse to do a job I hate, so I'll be poor forever!
The clinic is letting me pay at a later date! Still in need of $160 to cover it all. Meds are taken care of for the time being, this will cover the rest of the appointment. Please help, I need to be able to continue treatment to stay alive and healthy and be able to work on my game.
