Chi ha ucciso Il Conte?<p>⚡⚡ BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ⚡⚡</p><p>My dear network,</p><p>As I’m about to finish my PhD, I’ll be looking for new employment starting in 2025!</p><p>I work as a UX/UI designer, with my focus primarily on creating interfaces for electronic music / multimedia arts, and more broadly, interactive devices.</p><p>Throughout my 10+ year career, I’ve collaborated with artists, foundations, and companies, contributing to a variety of creative and technical endeavors. I also have extensive experience writing funding applications, successfully securing resources for multiple projects both independently and as part of a team.</p><p>I specialize in both designing and constructing electronic devices, as well as developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) tailored to specific needs. With a strong background in digital fabrication, I operate my own fabrication lab and have previously served as a lab manager in FabLabs, overseeing a wide range of projects.</p><p>In recent years, after a decade of working as a designer, I have broadened my practice to include academic research.</p><p>My recent research efforts have primarily explored critical reflection and sustainable action within design practices. I have investigated open-source tools and methods to develop interfaces in the form of both tangible devices and GUIs. The aim of these explorations is to push the boundaries of current practices, finding innovative solutions that enhance the full potential of each design project while considering its long-term impact.<br>I engage in hands-on design projects and studies with people and communities</p><p>As my focus has shifted to academia in the past few years, and I would love to continue pursuing this path. However, I am open to any employment opportunity that can benefit from my skills and expertise.</p><p>I am currently based in Parma (northeast Italy), but I am happy to relocate for the right opportunity.</p><p>If your organization has an opening that resonates with my skills, or if you come across an announcement that might be a good fit, please let me know!</p><p>Here is a link to my website, where you can find more details about my work: <br><a href="https://chihauccisoilconte.eu/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">chihauccisoilconte.eu/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Thank you in advance!</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/UXUIDesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UXUIDesign</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/DigitalFabrication" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DigitalFabrication</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/InteractiveDesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>InteractiveDesign</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/ElectronicMusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ElectronicMusic</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/MultimediaArt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MultimediaArt</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/DesignResearch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DesignResearch</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/SustainableDesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SustainableDesign</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/CreativeTechnology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CreativeTechnology</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/JobSearch2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>JobSearch2025</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/CareerOpportunities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CareerOpportunities</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/PhDGraduate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PhDGraduate</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Innovation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Innovation</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/AcademicResearch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AcademicResearch</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/MusicalInterfaces" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MusicalInterfaces</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/RelocationOpportunities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RelocationOpportunities</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/DesignForArtists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DesignForArtists</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/NewMediaArt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NewMediaArt</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/jobsearch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>jobsearch</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/lookingforajob" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lookingforajob</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/jobintech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>jobintech</span></a></p>
Karsten Schmidt<p>Since some of you seem to enjoy these tessellation experiments, here's an old projection mapping installation project of mine for which I combined similar patterns with digital fabrication (laser cutting &amp; cutting plotters) to produce two Victorian-style room dividers with 620 handfolded paper cones, which were then used as 3D projection surface. Visitors could use an iPad app, housed in a small dolly table (also laser cut), to produce custom animated patterns which were then projected onto the paper cones...</p><p>V&amp;A Ornamental (2011)<br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b1C2xLWB-w" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=5b1C2xLWB-</span><span class="invisible">w</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/Tessellation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tessellation</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/Patterns" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Patterns</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/Art" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Art</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/Installation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Installation</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/Interactive" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Interactive</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/ProjectionMapping" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ProjectionMapping</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/DigitalFabrication" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DigitalFabrication</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/LaserCut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LaserCut</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/PaperCraft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PaperCraft</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/London" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>London</span></a></p>
