Marc'O 🕹️ ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯<p>Daggerfall Unity Android v1.1.1.4 Released! This update fixes major issues with quest-related enemy spawning, introduces portrait mode, and brings several quality-of-life improvements for touchscreen controls. <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/game" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>game</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/games" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>games</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/retro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retro</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/daggerfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>daggerfall</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/df" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>df</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/unity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>unity</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/theelderscrolls" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>theelderscrolls</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/tes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tes</span></a> <a href="https://github.com/Vwing/daggerfall-unity-android/releases/tag/v1.1.1.4" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/Vwing/daggerfall-un</span><span class="invisible">ity-android/releases/tag/v1.1.1.4</span></a></p>
Shell Games<p>I've been really obsessed with <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/ElderScrolls" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ElderScrolls</span></a> lately, and for some reason decided to try and finish <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Daggerfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Daggerfall</span></a>, which I never finished. I finished <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Arena" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Arena</span></a>, which puts me in probably 1% of Elder Scrolls fans, but Daggerfall was too buggy the last time I tried it. Gonna see if GOG's version works out for me.</p>

Kroc Camen<p>I've bounced off of <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/daggerfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>daggerfall</span></a> multiple times now so I'm going to try something more accessible, <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Oblivion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Oblivion</span></a>. A complex game is not a problem, but one that doesn't explain itself, is. I want to experience the world taken at face value -- if I must create a character I am going to do so as I desire and I cannot tolerate games where you need to read an entire wiki before you start and must create a highly-specific character otherwise you have no hope of surviving the tutorial, or end up locking yourself out of seeing everything the game has to offer. This, Elder Scrolls has in spades.</p>
Vincent392:kerbal:<p>So,<br>I've decided to start decompiling The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (the DOS version, DFU is Open Source)<br>And by looking at the DAGGER.EXE file (without decompiling it) I've figured out, all it really does is print some text, check if it's running under windows (and close if so), and runs the following: fall.exe z.cfg<br>And I call this decomp attempt, Decompfall<br><a href="https://github.com/DecompFall/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/DecompFall/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br>(Note: Daggerfall has been free since 2009<br>Note 2: I haven't started decompiling yet)<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Daggerfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Daggerfall</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Decompfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Decompfall</span></a></p>
Jesse Miksic<p>Tonight's Big Think: Somebody should mod Daggerfall Unity so that it can be played as a full-featured Farming Sim. Or as a wandering trader. I would love to see a fantasy/RPG game with legit non-violent playthrough options!</p><p><a href="https://zirk.us/tags/daggerfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>daggerfall</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/DaggerfallUnity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DaggerfallUnity</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/CRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CRPG</span></a></p>

Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮<p>The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall continues living on in Daggerfall Unity, which just added exclusive in-game books by the original lead designer <a href="https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/08/daggerfall-unity-adds-exclusive-in-game-books-by-the-original-lead-designer/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">gamingonlinux.com/2023/08/dagg</span><span class="invisible">erfall-unity-adds-exclusive-in-game-books-by-the-original-lead-designer/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RPG</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Daggerfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Daggerfall</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ElderScrolls" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ElderScrolls</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gaming</span></a></p>
<a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/jeuxvideo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jeuxvideo</span></a></p>
Corentin Lamy<p>Les studios <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LookingGlass" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LookingGlass</span></a> c'était <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/UltimaUnderworld" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UltimaUnderworld</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SystemShock" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SystemShock</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Thief" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Thief</span></a>... et puis <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TerraNova" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TerraNova</span></a>, infiniment moins culte et sans doute à raison.
