Null
My players and I are often engaged in a game of tormenting each other. They're bad at names, so I love giving NPCs names that trip the them up.

They're currently dealing with two NPCs, Ask'im (A woman), and Ask'er (a man). Though unrelated, these NPCs keep ending up in the same scenes, and think the party is really strange because each of them kept getting mixed up questions from the party.

#TTRPG #D&D

Null
I've played a lot of game systems, and none of their travel systems have been anything my players and I have really enjoyed.

So a fellow GM and I were talking about how his campaign is at a point that the players will be traveling for 3 weeks in-setting, and how he might handle it. He and I felt that following the system and rolling a bunch of random encounters felt kinda cheap and boring.

My own take was: Screw it - lets treat like it is: An interlude. Sure, we should cut bad to the party every once in awhile to update them in their journey, but the party is moving to a new center of 'the action', and is temporarily off the board. This is the time in the story where we'd set the stage for the audience.

So we hacked it out. He's going to run what is effectively a two-session game with some temporary characters that the players will take up. This will introduce the city and the situation that the normal PCs will find themselves embroiled in suddenly, without having to spend a bunch of time on investigation and meta-exposition to get the players in the right frame.

I'm excited to hear how it goes for him. It'd be a fun way to handle this in the future. #TTRPG #d&d

Kritischer Fehlschlag

Bild by Gordy Higgins.

-Seba

#AbenteuerDesign #DD #DND #Oldschool #OSR #PenPaper #pnpde
