Mistress Remilia<p>Got the final chip emulator ported to SatouSynth from YunoSynth: the YM2413 (aka VRC7). So now the two libraries have the same chips implemented, one in <a href="https://xn--nanako--c83f6n.mooo.com/tags/CommonLisp" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#CommonLisp</a>, one in <a href="https://xn--nanako--c83f6n.mooo.com/tags/CrystalLang" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#CrystalLang</a>. SatouSynth (the <a href="https://xn--nanako--c83f6n.mooo.com/tags/lisp" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#lisp</a><span> one) is just slightly ahead in terms of functionality since I didn't back-port VGM seeking into YunoSynth yet, but I will soon, probably in a day or two.<br><br>This also means </span><a href="https://xn--nanako--c83f6n.mooo.com/tags/benben" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#benben</a><span> is now much closer to a v0.7.0 release. Just gotta fix up some unimplemented command line arguments, then finish the milestone for v0.7.0 (just one item left), then just do a thorough round of testing.<br><br>Testing will be a bit longer this time since the whole program was rewritten from scratch in Common Lisp, so I want to make sure everything is just right. I'll of course post new development AppImages as I go.<br><br>So my guess? Benben v0.7.0 will be out this fall.<br><br></span><a href="https://xn--nanako--c83f6n.mooo.com/tags/LinuxAudio" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#LinuxAudio</a></p>

Jamie Gaskins<p>I just noticed that Crystal 1.13.0 is out!</p><p>These release notes are great. My personal faves:<br>- ✨UUID v7 support✨<br>- Some atomic operations like mutexes and Channels on ARM CPUs are faster<br>- JSON parsing is up to 150% faster for large payloads<br>- More groundwork laid for multithreading</p><p><a href="https://github.com/crystal-lang/crystal/releases/tag/1.13.0" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/crystal-lang/crysta</span><span class="invisible">l/releases/tag/1.13.0</span></a></p><p><a href="https://zomglol.wtf/tags/Crystal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Crystal</span></a> <a href="https://zomglol.wtf/tags/CrystalLang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CrystalLang</span></a></p>
postmodern<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://defcon.social/@thedarktangent" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>thedarktangent</span></a></span> also consider <a href="https://crystal-lang.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Crystal</a>, <a href="https://nim-lang.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Nim</a>, and <a href="https://ziglang.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Zig</a>. While not as popular as Go or Rust, I think they should be considered as options when shopping around for a memory safe language. Crystal has Ruby inspired syntax, making it easy for Ruby developers to pickup. Nim has Python inspired syntax, making it easy to grok for Python developers. Zig is also GC-less like Rust, allowing it to be used in firmware or kernel modules. I personally think Crystal is well suited for those coming from C++/Java/C# and has very strong OOP. We have an abundance of memory safe programming languages to choose from.<br><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/crystallang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>crystallang</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/nimlang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nimlang</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/ziglang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ziglang</span></a></p>
watzon<p><span>I think it's about time for another </span><a href="https://watzonmanor.com/tags/introduction" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#introduction</a><span>, because it's been a while and a bit has changed.<br><br>Hi, I'm Chris. I'm a software engineer of about 13 years, with most of that being in both front end and back end web development. In a lot of circles I'm known as the </span><a href="https://watzonmanor.com/tags/crystal" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crystal</a><span> guy, because for a long time that was my favorite programming language. I wouldn't say I have a favorite anymore, but I use </span><a href="https://watzonmanor.com/tags/crystallang" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crystallang</a><span>, </span><a href="https://watzonmanor.com/tags/zig" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#zig</a><span>, </span><a href="https://watzonmanor.com/tags/ruby" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ruby</a><span>, </span><a href="https://watzonmanor.com/tags/python" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#python</a><span>, </span><a href="https://watzonmanor.com/tags/typescript" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#typescript</a><span>, and a ton of other languages.<br><br>I am also a father of 2 beautiful children. Both of them were born prematurely, so that number will not be increasing.</span></p>
watzon :crystal:<p>I guess it's time for an <a href="https://uncorking.me/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a>. I am a software engineer going on some 13 years now, mostly specializing in full stack web development, but I love to play with more systems-focused languages like <a href="https://uncorking.me/tags/ziglang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ziglang</span></a> and <a href="https://uncorking.me/tags/crystallang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>crystallang</span></a>. I also love 3d printing and run the <a href="https://uncorking.me/tags/TikTok" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TikTok</span></a> account 3dprintifer. Husband, father, and now owner of uncorking.me where I'll be sharing all my thoughts from now on.</p>
