Between the 13th and 15th of March 1941, the German airforce dropped over 250 tonnes of bombs on Clydeside, killing around 1,200 people (half in Clydebank and half in Glasgow). This gravestone in Eastwood New Cemetery is a reminder that to this day, not all the bodies of those who were killed were ever identified. It's one of half a dozen similar stones in a row tucked away at the back of the graveyard.

A simple gravestone inscribed with the words: Here are interred the remaina of eight unidentified people who were killed by enemy action in Glasgow March 1941.

Second World War soldier identified as man from Kenora after nearly 80 years
The grave of Private Arthur Vanance, a Canadian soldier who went missing in the Netherlands during the Second World War, has been identified at Holten Canadian War Cemetery after decades of uncertainty.
