I'm in a bit of a conundrum when it comes to going to my local cafés.
There's one where the small independent business has amazing personality, zest, and irreverence. But the staff and patrons are rather staid.
On the other hand, the local Starbucks (yeah, a huge corporation) goes out of its way with its staff to embrace being genderqueer, showing off their (many) tattoos/piercings/fluorescent hair colors, going out of their way in being friendly and welcoming, and more. This is particularly amazing because neighboring businesses are much more straitlaced.
So do I go for the business vibe, or the people vibe? It's a tough call, but I seem to be leaning towards the latter.
