Despite not being present at the protest, Dillane was accused of violating the student code of conduct and threatened with disciplinary action, including being barred from graduation. In April 2024, Barnard suspended and evicted at least 55 students for their alleged participation in the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment.” Following the suspensions, Barnard offered an “Alternative Resolution” process which lifted the suspensions in exchange for waiving rights to participate in the conduct process.
