Newbies won't understand. Like, what do people actually DO on Mastodon? The website doesn't tell.</p><p>And it's full of marketing <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/buzzwords" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>buzzwords</span></a> like "maximize your experience" (<a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/CRINGE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CRINGE</span></a>). People HATE this.</p><p>Also, I have no idea what the "Enhance" button does and I don't want to find out.</p><p>Finally, "Join" literally suggests the biggest server. 😩</p>

Paul O'Malley<p>A small pet peeve of mine, which seems to be a more common occurrence than I thought it was.<br>I saw it written down in better words than I could think of to express it, so here they are.</p><p>Please stop saying “reach out.” The words you’re looking for are “contact”, “call,” “email,” “text,” “IM,” “ask,” etc.</p><p>And while we’re at it, “ask” is a verb.
