Solomon Foster<p>Spent 20 minutes trying to record a polka I learned a few weeks back, but never managed to get more than twice through without a major hiccup. So instead here's a lovely waltz I could get through on the first take. This is the “Bluemont" Waltz by Rodney Miller; I got it from Graham Wells, who I believe got it from Jackie Daly.</p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/77ges-HRhzA" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/77ges-HRhzA</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/TuneSwapTuesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TuneSwapTuesday</span></a> <br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/ButtonAccordion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ButtonAccordion</span></a><br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/Waltz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Waltz</span></a><br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/RodneyMiller" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RodneyMiller</span></a></p>
Solomon Foster<p>Here's “Get Well Dave Penny", which I wrote 9 days ago. Rhythm in my playing is still a bit shaky, but I wanted to get it out there.</p><p>Dots: <a href="https://harmonyware.com/tunes/Get_Well_Dave_Penny.html" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">harmonyware.com/tunes/Get_Well</span><span class="invisible">_Dave_Penny.html</span></a></p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/7Jx-VkHBNgI" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/7Jx-VkHBNgI</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/TuneSwapTuesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TuneSwapTuesday</span></a><br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/ButtonAccordion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ButtonAccordion</span></a></p>
Solomon Foster<p>I got this “Cúil Aodha" slide from Graham Wells last week. I know I've heard it a bunch on a recording somewhere, but I've been unable to track down where so far -- suspect it's mislabeled in my MP3 library.</p><p>This is a warts and all recording, with a couple of finger flubs and some lapses in rhythm. </p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/JsrFSDEcOyQ" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/JsrFSDEcOyQ</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/TuneSwapTuesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TuneSwapTuesday</span></a> <br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/ButtonAccordion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ButtonAccordion</span></a><br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/IrishTrad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IrishTrad</span></a> <br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/Slide" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Slide</span></a></p>
Solomon Foster<p>"The Day I Spent With Mick" is a Cuz Teahan composition that caught my eye in his tunebook because it leaned heavily into the quick B / C# alternation that's very natural on a button accordion with a D row. The only recording I'm aware of is on Niamh Ní Charra's fantastic tribute album "Cuz”, I use one of her tasty little variations the last time through the A part.</p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/f05QUvy0Kfc" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/f05QUvy0Kfc</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/TuneSwapTuesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TuneSwapTuesday</span></a> <br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/ButtonAccordion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ButtonAccordion</span></a><br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/CuzTeahan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CuzTeahan</span></a> <br><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/Polka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Polka</span></a></p>
