Future Sprog<p>When I contacted Booking dot com over a year ago about a bullshit listing that looked like they were trying to steal my identity, Booking dot com said there was no crime and nothing they could do because my booking had been canceled by the scammer.</p><p>Well, that's good to know. All taken care of. No crimes here.</p><p>What's what, you say? There ARE crimes being committed on Booking dot com?</p><p><a href="https://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/360788567/more-kiwis-scammed-bookingcom-fails-act-swiftly-fake-listings" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">stuff.co.nz/travel/360788567/m</span><span class="invisible">ore-kiwis-scammed-bookingcom-fails-act-swiftly-fake-listings</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nzoss.nz/tags/BookingDotCom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BookingDotCom</span></a></p>
Bob LeFridge :tinoflag:<p>Malware warning -- Booking.com / Xworm</p><p>This is nasty. You think you've gone to booking dot com, but the "accept cookies" popup downloads Xworm malware to your device and you've been pwned. The bad guys have full control over your device. </p><p><a href="https://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/360750520/personal-files-and-webcams-targeted-fake-booking-sites-what-you-need-know" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">stuff.co.nz/travel/360750520/p</span><span class="invisible">ersonal-files-and-webcams-targeted-fake-booking-sites-what-you-need-know</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/BookingDotCom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BookingDotCom</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/Malware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Malware</span></a> 3Xworm</p>
Mike 🇬🇧 🇪🇺<p>I'm as sure as I can be that I've had a phishing attempt from two hotels that I've booked for my Slovakia trip in September.<br>Both hotels are in the same group. Identical emails but also identical messages within the booking.com messaging system.<br>They want me to reconfirm my credit card details - hmmmm!</p><p>I've emailed the hotels directly and also messaged booking.com</p><p>Maybe this is yet another argument for booking direct with the hotels rather than using a booking agent.</p><p><a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/phishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>phishing</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/PhishingScam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PhishingScam</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/bookingcom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bookingcom</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/bookingdotcom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bookingdotcom</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/hotels" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hotels</span></a></p>
