I think the size is right now, but I don't have a measurement of the original. </p><p>This is 90/2 linen thread, but the thread is slubby and I'm not keen on it. mem_somerville<p>I've tried fatter linen (60/2) and finer linen (90/2). The 90/2 looks closer, and you can see I also tried that with a heavy outline thread (we call that gimp, sorry--I know). </p><p>But the pinholes were bothering me. I can get rid of them with some pulling on the lace in all directions. I assume that would be like a washed item might be treated? And why the pinholes aren't apparent in the museum one. </p><p>Anyway, more testing to do. Auris<p>sooo in between all of my wip I decided to start something new.<br>In 2014 and 15 I did two Retas (pearl mesh headpieces worn in the early italian reniassance) but was never happy with the construction. Yesterday I was thinking about it again and thought...I could bobbin lace that! And I did and it looks amazing. mem_somerville<p>I haven't shown work in a while--I was working on a piece for a competition that we aren't supposed to reveal before our event. But that's done now, and I'm back on other stuff. </p><p>I took my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IpswichLace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IpswichLace</span></a> off the pillow. This is what I worked on at public demos last season. It's got some errors and some experimentation (the color in the flowers).
