Toronto’s latest bike lane plan doesn’t propose new lanes for the first time in years

My minor entry for the #CarryShitOlympics.
A Maclaren umbrella stroller, IKEA high chair and some kids’ floor tiles, on the back of our #tern GSD.
Rumour on Urban Toronto has city councillor planning to kill some cycling infrastructure near the Danforth.
The neighbourhood is wealthy, drives more than it should given the subway nearby, and the cycling plan *adds* parking but it’s still not enough for car-fetish Toronto.

@GraphicMatt Oooh. I love that idea of Bikeshare users earning rewards for riding bikes from crowded to empty stations. It seems like a real win-win. Get paid for working out, essentially. I expect they wouldn't need that many people actively participating to make a noticeable difference.
Sometimes I think saving lives would be nice but then I remember that 48 cars over two kilometres would have to park nearby on a side street
Please accept my apologies car owners for my selfishness
About time @tomflood.bsky.social adapted his "Bicycles deliver the freedom that auto ads promise" to public transit! Message still works either way! #BikeTO #TTC #RapidTO #TOpoli #ONpoli CC @ttcriders.bsky.social

Montréal recently unveiled their list of pedestrian streets for this summer. Which other cities have you heard adopt pedestrian streets (or open streets) while leaving Toronto in the dust? #WalkTO #BikeTO #TOpoli #OpenStreetsTO #ActiveTO montreal.citynews.ca/2025/05/26/m...

It's high time for Paula Fletcher to retire and allow some new blood to represent Toronto Danforth! Putting aside a bike lane upgrade on Jones due to loss of parking spaces is unacceptable! #shame #BikeTO #TOpoli #TorDan

RT @GraphicMatt:
Is the Esplanade not, like, the canonical ideal of the “side street” where the anti-bike crowd say bike lanes should go? There’s no appeasing these people.

A8: I prefer relatively short travel on my hydro disc levers. Fortunately the Hope Tech 4 levers I use feature adjustable, tool-free, separate twiddling of lever position and bite point control so they're always right where I want them. I find that I use those knobs more often in the in-between seasons, fall and spring, possibly because ambient temperature changes the volume of the fluid in my brake lines?

A6: A croissant and a cappuccino, because both of those things are delicious and when enjoyed simultaneously they Voltron together into an unstoppable megasnack.
After-ride recovery for me is usually a glass or two of coconut water in an ice cold glass from the freezer, and some kind of salty protein.
Before-ride prep food is usually mostly water, sometimes brewed black coffee.
