𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒑𝒆𝒓<p>My homemade frame spacers work great, both sets! I guess my 17 years of precision machine work paid off. They fit with 0.005" of play per side. That should be accurate enough for the girls in the honey supers to draw fat combs next year. 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒑𝒆𝒓<p>I finally got some time with a laser cutter today and was able to cut out my experimental 7 frame honey super spacers. I couldn't decide which design I'd like so I made both. These are made of 0.042" steel with a nickel coating to prevent rust. 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒑𝒆𝒓<p>Our garden is coming along nicely this year. It's rewarding to walk outside and grab the supplies for a salad or ingredients for a recipe from the backyard. Our honey extractor will be here next Tuesday. The one hive is visible in the tomato pic. I hope to share some of our experience there next week. Today at work I drafted spacers to make my 8 frame supers 7 so the bees make fatter comb next year. Jo<p>This is what Stuart is looking at searching for a bee who is usually a bit bigger and a slightly different shape to all the workers. He tells me she moves differently on the frame too. I can never see her if I am looking. Jo<p>I was a bit surprised at the stores on the bees. Nothing to write home about. We were lifting off 3 honey supers without effort so there is not a lot in them. Lets hope the next week changes things (3 full super would be 90lb ish. We can lift them off in one go with 2 of us but then can't always lift them back up again.
