The White nuc that only had 2 frames of bees, brood, and food is consuming food faster than the Green nuc so I upped the size of the feeder. I've been feeding 1:1 syrup of sugar and switched to goldenrod honey today. Small jar had 250g sugar/honey. Big jar is 660g honey.

When I first set the feeder this morning I thought it was leaking because it was bubbling so fast. Checked and it had a ball of bees on it.

Busy bees, April 4, 2025. Pollen going in and I see some drones at the Center hive. The hybrid willows are blooming and full of bees, and the Norway Maples, sarvis berries, peaches, and plum will be blooming in a few days probably.

Be prepared. Winter is coming.

Yesterday I did move a frame almost full of capped brood, honey, pollen, and bees into the 'empty' hive.

This morning there were guard bees doing their thing and really checking over any bee that showed up, there was robbing yesterday from the feeder dripping and running out the entrance but nothing serious. I reduced the entrance to make guarding easier and noticed some pollen coming in which was surprising.

(1/4) #Beehive in its full splendor and glory is truly amazing! 😲
Here are some interesting and lesser-known facts about beehives:
1. An average of 50,000 to 80,000 honeybees live in a beehive at the height of summer.
2. Most bees in a hive are female worker bees.
3. Female bees can sting, but male bees cannot sting...
