Ausnahmsweise ein guter Community-Kommentar:

"Lieber #Tagesspiegel,

Judd folded his ARMs, frowning. It was beyond him why Lewis had ARMed the Naterites, an unforgettable act, and settlers had died because of it. Rich river-bottom land called to be farmed, and settlers heeded the call, only to have heathens sweep through at night.

Dwod had given them this new untamed land. They’d explained this to the Naterite elders, but they didn’t seem to understand.

He looked over at Lewis, held by two strong Brothers. It was a shame, and he was even the son of an Anointed One.

There was nothing for it, though. “String him up.”

Well, this has been my smoothest arm experience yet.

Download a generic arm64 iso, boot to it, install. Nice.

NixOS 25.05 on gnome works great. And nearly all of my apps work as well.

Sadly #gitkraken and #Spotify both seem to have no arm64 builds :(. Two apps I do use on a daily basis.

Wonder If it's possible to run it via emulation, or help these packages to get native.

That is a good question. Is there something like #Rosetta for #linux ?

Can I run x86 software on this #arm box?

@tuxedocomputers and @nitrokey delivers hardware which is more open, capable of running Linux very well. Both European companies.

@frameworkcomputer and @system76 are US based companies, but delivers great Linux support as well.

#Fairphone with @e_mydata preinstalled (by @murena) delivers a de-googled Android phone with high focus on #privacy. Both Fairphone and Murena are European companies.

The #ARM architecture platform is designed by a UK company. But this platform is also highly extensive and each vendor manufacturing ARM CPUs have the possibilities to add their own extensions to it, which many mobile phone vendors and Apple has done. What we're missing is probably more an ARM based platform manufactured in Europe, which is used by the other computer and mobile/tablet vendors.

There are sane and more reliable alternatives, even though some of the aspect of them could be a bit better if you aim for a complete de-coupling from USAs technology.
