Location location location!
Why are people on #socialmedia so coy about location? Landscapes - not stated. Beautiful produce from your garden - not stated. A beach view - not stated. Last night's weather - not stated. And especially #alttext - ooh I cannot possibly say where this lovely flower was seen!
Am I alone being fascinated by geography and places where cool things are, and I find it weird that people have this kind of geospatial taboo.

Me: I have trans friends, Muslim friends, gay friends, friends of all races and nationalities.
Friend: What about conservative friends?
Me: *shifts uncomfortably* I mean, I don't agree with their lifestyle... It's a choice, you know. But they should keep it behind closed doors.

...and edit it into this.[zrl=https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/photos/jupiter_rowland/image/b1e7bf9c-07d8-45b6-90bb-f43e27199295][zmg=https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/photo/b1e7bf9c-07d8-45b6-90bb-f43e27199295-2.jpg]Digital shaded rendering of the main building of the Universal Campus, a downloadable island location for 3-D virtual worlds based on OpenSimulator. The camera position is about three metres or ten feet above the ground. The camera is tilted slightly upward and rotated slightly to the left from the building's longitudinal axis. The futuristic building is over 200 metres long, stretching far into the distance, and its front is about 50 metres wide. Its structure is mostly textured to resemble brushed stainless steel, and almost everything in-between is grey tinted glass. The main entrance of the building in the middle of the front has two pairs of glass doors. They are surrounded by a massive complex geometrical structure, very roughly reminiscent of a vintage video game spacecraft with the front facing upward. Four huge cylindrical pillars carry the roof end, the outer two of which extend beyond it. All are tilted away from the landing area in front of the building and at the same time outward to the sides. The sides of the building are slightly tilted themselves. In the distance, a large geodesic dome rises from the building. There is a large circular area in front of the main entrance as well as several wide paths. They have light concrete textures, and they are lined with low walls with almost white concrete textures. Furthermore, various shrubs and trees decorate the scenery.[/zmg][/zrl]

Lieber Jan. Lass dich nicht abfucken. Die meisten mögen und schätzen dich (bzw. das was man von dir medial/online mitbekommt.) Hoffe doch, das merkst du besonders auf Mastodon.?

This is what happens to Easter when you don’t follow the advice of the smart woman and follow strict contamination procedures.
(Stolen because no #AltText.)
AMAZINGLY GOOD
Which feature would you like to be added first on Mastodon or Pixelfed?
#AltText for your screenshot:
Shows a social media post with the name removed
Text reads "If I was a business manager where changing rooms were necessary I would find a broom closet, empty it out and designate it the changing room for cis women who feel threatened by trans women. I would still have the men's and the women's but I would exclude the TERFS not the trans people. I don't know how it would work under the current equality laws but I would do it anyway."
I'm really liking that the Moshidon app takes Alt-Text so seriously. In general it seems more image-friendly.
New phone and I can't get to the #altText buttons for photo posts. The keyboards (all I've tried) block them. I've tried minimizing and floating but still can't see mastodon's controls around the keyboard. Has anyone found a solution? Thanks.
It would be nice to be be able to put alt text into the metadata of an image, so it populates automatically when the image is reshared. There are at least a couple of ways to do this, but none that Mastodon can recognize.
I don't know about you but violets & dandelions are my biggest harbingers of spring. Many a spring day while walking to/from elementary school (50+ yrs ago) I'd gather a nice bouquet of both.
You, know. Just for some walking around flowers .
