Eric McCorkle<p>Ok, I'm converging on a position regarding the terms "artificial intelligence" and "machine learning", relevant to my previous discussion.</p><p>Short version is that the term AI is unscientific, AGI is intellectually dishonest, and both AI and ML serve to mislead. (+macOS Sonoma on 9/26)</p><p>I'm incredibly proud of the new features Apple's <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AIML" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AIML</span></a> teams contributed to including StandBy, Live Voicemail, Personal Voice, Live Stickers, a redesigned Translate app with grammatical gender alternatives, and more that I can't fit here!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Siri" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Siri</span></a> also had a big year—summoning it with just "Siri" instead of “Hey Siri” seems like a small change, but it’s dramatically increased my Siri usage.</p>
