They're basically sheds on wheels.</p><p>I decided to construct some 1:87 / H0 scale versions. The models won't be 1:1 copies but instead "inspired copies" (if alone as it'll be difficult to get down the utter dorkiness of the real things).</p><p>First model will be the boxed trailer. It's paying for itself in lab equipment and lab item builds! David Croyle<p>3D print finish test comparison between high-gloss black base with chrome paint (on right) and the same black base with a graphite rub finish (left). Neither has been clear-coated at this stage. Next step is to test the graphite over that chrome to see how that looks.</p><p>One of the shoulder plates is completely solid while the other is bog-standard 15% infill. Bryan Haskin<p>A fun little project this last weekend! Mainly a good excuse to practice some CAD work.</p><p>It's a 7" touchscreen with a raspberry pi 4 running open plotter and openCPN. It's a prototype for the head unit for my navigation station on my boat.</p><p>The final one will likely be a 10" touchscreen. Not waterproof, but water resistant. Seeing all the great feedback and downloads on free models is much more fun than getting a few dollars every now and then.</p><p>For example, you can now get the articulated T-Rex model (which makes a great stand for small notes and pencils) or the modular dragon (with over 240 possible combinations) for free!
