Luke Miller
Just found out the famous jump cut in 2001: A Space Odyssey from prehistoric humanity's first tool is not just to a satellite but to a nuclear weapons platform. They cut that detail from the film to avoid comparisons to Dr Strangelove.

From weapon to weapon - ie nothing has changed. Multiclass Geek
For a limited time, I have a discounted subscription to MAX streaming service with ads. The subscription will expire soon, so I've been exploring what's new in the classic film "TCM" section. I clicked on the newly remastered version of 2001.

Unfortunately, as with so many other movies that have been remastered to 4K UHD, the effects look more fake now. It's like watching an overcooked "AI-enhanced" version in some parts of the film.

I'll stick with my Blu-Ray version.

#film #2001aspaceodyssey #remastered

Darkedge
So I finally got my Discovery from 2001 completed. It's 140cm long. Bit bigger than expected but I may have made it 1:100 scale... The suspension rig isn't quite right but glad I got the lighting sorted - had issues with the remote control but working now! #3dprinting #2001aspaceodyssey
